Two chairs and one light bulb
Four walls and an open door
She just walked out of
Two kids gone, one wrecked home
Four years and the open door
She just walked out of
Mercurochrome mistress, burning marks
The spot from where she ripped the heart
Out of my chest and blew a kiss
Upon the wound saying
It can only get better
Too lonely to sleep at night
I stare at the open door
She just walked out of
Scrape the chair leg on the floor
Should I follow out the door
She just walked out of?
Mercurochrome mistress, burning marks
The spot from where she ripped the heart
Out of my chest and blew a kiss
Upon the wound saying
It can only get better
I can’t shut the door
‘cause I’m in a state of shock
And I don’t know a thing
‘Cept the ticking of this clock
Underneath the bulb
Casting shadows on the wall
Wishing she was here
To help me end it all
Am I naïve to believe
People come back when they leave?
She just walked out
Two chairs and one light bulb
Four walls and an open door
She just walked out of
