he’s an outdoor cat
he’d rather be where
the sun’s on his back
wind in his hair
on a perfect day
if he had his wish
he’d be chasing birds
or catching fish
padding well-worn trails
under afternoon skies
or napping in the meadow
while the clouds drift by
he’s an outdoor cat
just stuck inside
watching the weather
while his wet coat dries
