A single drop of water
Tapped me on the shoulder
To get my attention
Pardon me, your roof is leaking

I said, Thank you very much
I stepped outside in a rush
Sky was clear, it wasn’t raining
But my neighbor was complaining

Complaining ‘bout the smoke coming
From my house that was burning
In the distance, heard a siren
But it wasn’t going my way

Thought that someone somewhere must be
Having the absolute worst day
So, I turned back to my house
Which was just a mound of ash

A single drop of water
Tapped me on the shoulder
To get my attention
Pardon me, your eye is leaking

I have no eye, it’s just the sun
Hidden by the hurricane
T.V. said, It’s too late
Too late to evacuate

I hunkered in the rubble
Tub full of Mr. Bubble
Noticed that my finger pruned
Looked up and saw my world was ruined

And a single drop of water
Tapped me on the shoulder
Said your fly is open
And your shoes are untied
Said your fly is open
And your shoes are untied
Said your fly is open
And your shoes are untied
