I Never Feel Alone

Camera in my pocket, camera on the street
A camera in the hand of everyone I meet
Camera in my car, staring down the road
Another in the park streaming viral videos

One at the ATM, dozens at the store
Hundreds in the high school, not like it was before
Thousands up in orbit, watching from above
Recording and distorting and reporting higher up

All these cameras watching me, I am so well-known
I don’t mind you watching me, I never feel alone
When I come and when I go, I know you’re always there
Monitoring my movements with tender loving care
Always looking out for me, you see me safely home
I can’t stop you watching me, I never feel alone

Omnipresent eyes on me with marketing intentions
Voyeuristic things you see through marketing inventions
Altruistic and sadistic programs on my phone
I can’t stop you watching me, I never feel alone

All these cameras watching me, I am so well-known
I don’t mind you watching me, I never feel alone
When I come and when I go, I know you’re always there
Monitoring my movements with tender loving care
Always looking out for me, you see me safely home
I can’t stop you watching me, I never feel alone

Cameras everywhere I go for national defense
Save me from what I don’t know, security pretense
Cameras live on roads I drive with everyday commuters
At my desk, smile straight ahead, log into my computer

I try on the clothes I chose. You watch me through the mirror
Wash myself in my hotel, you see me in the shower
A supermodel’s life for me the world’s my studio
I can’t stop you watching me, I never feel alone

All these cameras watching me, I am so well-known
I don’t mind you watching me, I never feel alone
When I come and when I go, I know you’re always there
Monitoring my movements with tender loving care
Always looking out for me, you see me safely home
I can’t stop you watching me, I never feel alone
